Mr. Haynes passed away June 23, 2016, in Temple. He was born November 22, 1942, in Jarrell, Texas.

Robert Lee Haynes, Sr., is the sixth child of Robert Arlee Haynes and Clara Byrd.  He was married to his wife Della Mae Campbell for 53 years.  He was raised in Jarrell, Texas and received his education there.  His primary occupation was construction.

Robert was a member of People's Choice Worship Center since 1985.  He was an active member, where he participated in Deacon's Ministry.  Robert was a singer with the Gospel Airs of Killeen and the Tri-City Motorcycle Club Area Cobras of Temple.  His favorite hobby was fishing.  And he was a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan.

Robert was a husband, father, grand-father, great and great grandfather.  Anything that was broken he would fix it.  He was avid CB listener and communicator.  On any given day, you could hear him say, "Breaker, breaker 1-9, Caretaker, right downtown, Killeen, Texas, come in."  One could say, Daddy knows best, as he proved that to be true; serving as the chief apostle, inspector and regulator; inspecting any would-be suitors for his daughters.  He was the lawyer, doctor, counselor and dietician for all family members.  Family recalls fond memories of him when Daddy would say, "girl, you know you need to loose some weight; think you carrying 180 when you know you holding 360."  Often times, you could hear him say, "Della, Della, be sure you wash your hands and bring me some tea."  He was a loved Paw Paw by all his grands and great grandchildren.  Anyone of them would tell you their Paw Paw was an awesome man.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brothers; Stanley Butler and Melvin Butler and sister; Anna Marie Franks.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory:  His loving and devoted wife, Della Mae Haynes, (Killeen, Tx), his children:  Robert Haynes, Jr., and wife Cassandra; Barbara Lynn Moore and husband Steve; Lori Ann Leon and husband Daniel; Darryl Christopher Haynes; Tonja J. Haynes and daughter; Kim Dianne Neal all of Killeen, Tx; his three brothers:  Kenneth R. Haynes (Corpus Christi, Tx); Charles J. Butler (Austin, Tx); and Andrew Butler; (Jarrell, Tx); his two sisters:  Emma Lee Byrd, (Brooklyn, NY); and Mary Haynes (Round Rock, Tx); nineteen grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of extended family and friends. Robert had several people that were close to the family that he considered adopted sons and daughters.
