With profound sadness and faith in God's promise of eternal life, we announce the passing of YOLANDA BENAVIDES LARD, who entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 25, 2026, at the age of 78.

Yolanda was born on June 19, 1948, in San Juan, Texas, to Pedro Aguilar Pinon and Lorenza Luna Piñon. She lived a life defined by faith, service, strength, and a deep love for her family.

Yolanda proudly served in the California National Guard before beginning her career with Walmart. Her passion for learning led her to earn a Bachelor of Science with a Minor in Art from Excelsior College in 2007, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She later fulfilled her calling to serve others as a teacher at Shoemaker High School, where she impacted the lives of many students before retiring.

For more than 30 years, Yolanda faithfully attended Comanche Chapel, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and volunteered wherever she was needed. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She loved reading, especially her Bible, and showed her devotion to God through kindness, generosity, and service to others. She was a selfless woman who gave freely to various charities and never hesitated to help someone in need.

Those who knew Yolanda would describe her as kind and honest. She was never afraid to speak the truth, but her words always came from a place of love and wanting the best for others. Her strength, wisdom, and devotion to her family and faith will continue to be remembered.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Aguilar Pinon and Lorenza Luna Piñion; sister, Anita Marie Pinon; and stepson, Jamie Lard, who passed shortly before her.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of 47 years, Larry Lard; son, Aaron Lard, and his wife, Zabrina Lard; daughter, Crystal Jenkins, and her husband, Kevin Jenkins; stepdaughter, Sharan Jackman, and her husband, Steve Jackman; grandchildren, Marcuez

"Bugg" Lard, Izaak Lard, Mila Jenkins, Leiana Jenkins, Zamiri Jenkins, Antonio Lofton, and Shunte Lofton; her great-grandchildren; siblings, John Pinon, Bertha Pinon-Simpson, Hortensia Piñon, Jose Manuel Pinon, Jesse Pinon, Peter Pinon, Jr., and Ricardo Piñon; and many other extended family members, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ who will forever cherish her memory.

Yolanda lived a life of faith, quiet strength, and unconditional love. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and faithful servant of God. While her family grieves her absence, they find comfort knowing she is now free from pain and rejoicing in the presence of her Savior. They know she is singing in heaven with the Lord and smiling down on all of them.

"WELL DONE, GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT." MATTHEW 25:23
