Mrs. Jackson passed away January 4, 2023, in Harker Heights, TX. She was born September 17, 1939, in Milton, FL.
On January 4, 2023, our beloved mother, Willistine McCray Jackson, loving, caring, and divine messenger of God, was called home to glory at the blessed age of 83.
Affectionately known as "Momma," Willistine was born on September 17, 1939, in Milton, Florida, to the late Clarence McCray, Sr., and Willie Mae Parker McCray.
In her early years, she learned to lean on the Lord for peace and understanding and was baptized at Greater Bethlehem AME Church where she continued to serve the Lord until her passing. Willistine had a lifelong love of music, learning to play the piano in school and continued to share that love with others. Spiritually led, Momma became an anointed musician and singer of the gospel, acting as the choir musician for the male chorus at Greater Bethlehem AME Church. She also shared her music ministry with Mt. Zion in Milton, Florida.
Willistine graduated from T.R. Jackson High School on June 4, 1957. A devoted wife through 34 years of marriage to the late Raymond Eugene Jackson, Sr. (Ret), she traveled the world as a military spouse and still found time to be involved in the Lord's work. She dedicated her life to her five children and being the greatest mother there was. Willistine never met a stranger and loved everyone. She was a woman of excellence with a heart filled with peace, joy, and happiness.
MOMMA WAS THE MATRIARCH OF THIS FAMILY!
God was her anchor. He was her refuge, and he was her High Tower.
She is survived by and leaves to cherish her memories and carry on her lasting legacy: Cynthia Y. Pierre (Chante') of Burleson, TX, Patrick C. Jackson (Javon and Gavin), Donna M. Milton (John, SGT (Ret); Brand'ee and Bree'Anna) of Killeen, TX, Rainer Johnson (Joe L; Jasmine, Desiree, Montana, and Mashayla) and Raymond E. Jackson, Jr., SFC (Ret) (Melanie; Lela and Dehsawn) of Pensacola, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Willistine McCray Jackson was preceded in death by her father, Clarence McCray, Sr., her mother, Willie Mae Parker McCray, and her five brothers, Tyrone McCray, Clarence McCray Jr., Billy Gene McCray, Carl Ralph McCray, and James McCray.
Momma gave, she shared, and she sacrificed, but most of all she loved.
