Funeral service for Mr. Willie Robert Oliver 85 of Kempner, TX will be held Friday, December 8, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Killeen City Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Willie Robert Oliver, son of the late Lassiter Baskett and Mary Smith Oliver was born August 2, 1938, in Chase City, Virginia. He passed away November 30, 2023, in Lampasas, TX. He received his formal education in the Mecklenburg County school system where he attended Blue Stone High School in Chase City.
He moved to Baltimore with his family where he established a career in construction. He eventually obtained a job with P. Flanigan & Sons, Inc construction where he worked his way up in the company as a paving foreman and retired after 35 years of dedicated service.
Willie was affectionately known as Pop, Uncle Will and Mr. Willie. He was reserved and quiet, yet he always seemed to make friends wherever he went. Willie loved spending time with family, co-workers, and friends. And everyone who knew him loved him. He was an avid Ravens fan who enjoyed watching games sporting his Ravens gear.
Willie was proceeded in death by: his wife, Alma Oliver; daughter, Sandra Williams; sisters, Barbara McFail, Mary Frances Holmes, Elnora Mayo, Shirley Williams, Mary Jane Brame, Laura Galloway, Marie Baskett Blackwell, Selma Moore, and Thelma Smith; brothers, Samuel, Clement, Harry Lee and Junious Oliver; and longtime companion of over 30 years Sarah Satterfield.
He is survived by: his daughters, Iona Robinson of Virginia, Danielle Oliver of Baltimore, Delise Satterfield Bailey (David) of Kempner, TX; brother, Lassiter "Bill" Baskett of Maryland; grandchildren, Raven and Omarr Dickens of Virginia; Terry Bryant, Samuel, and Brian Williams of Maryland; Andrea Sheow, Olivia, David, and Erica Bailey of Texas; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
