Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Kay Reeves, 69 of Killeen, TX will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church in Killeen, Texas. Burial will follow the service at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) at the church.

Mrs. Reeves passed away June 27, 2022, in Temple, TX.

Wanda Kay Reeves was born on September 10, 1952, to the loving parents of Magnolia and Sam Rogers in Taylor, Texas where she was also raised. She departed life on Monday June 27, 2022, and leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever in the hearts of her loving and devoted family.

She attended O.L.  Price High school until she was transferred to Taylor High School where she graduated in 1972.

In 1971, she met and married the love of her life Oday Lewis Reeves and from this union three sons were born, Demond D. Reeves, Kevin Lynn Reeves, and Oday L Reeves Jr.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Allen Chapel A.M.E Church in Taylor, Texas. She joined Westside Baptist Church in 1996, where she remained a faithful and loyal member. She joined the Westside Usher Ministry in 1998. She served two terms as Usher President from 2002-2012. She was a member of the Executive committee of Westside Baptist church. She continued to serve until her retirement in 2019. She organized the first Christmas banquet at Westside Baptist Church and organized the 100 Man "Godly Men of Valor" and other special events.  She also served the church with Feeding Our Friends Homeless Ministry for the past five years.

Wanda was employed in the 1970's at the Army and Air Force Exchange in Neu- Ulm Germany. When she resided in Killeen, Texas, she was the Head Baker/ Supervisor at Piccadilly Cafeteria in Killeen, TX. Wanda was the owner of W-Kay's Men and Ladies' Fashions in 1993 to 1998. She was well known in the Killeen Independent School District as a Substitute Teacher at Clifton Park Elementary School. Wanda was a Lieutenant and an Armed Security Guard/Shift Supervisor for AKAL on Fort Hood, Texas.  She finished her working career as a Human Resource Assistant with the Department of Army III CORP, Ft. Hood TX.  Wanda was also a former member of Far West Chapter number 482 ORDER OF the EASTERN STARS (OES).

She was preceded in death by her parents Magnolia Spencer-Rogers and Sam Rogers, her sister Linda Faye Wright and adopted daughter LaTayna Rene Clark.

She is survived by her Husband, Oday Lewis Reeves Sr.; Sons, Demond D. Reeves, Kevin Lynn Reeves, and Oday Lewis Reeves Jr. (Kim); brother, Charles Gilmore, San Diego, CA; sister, Joy Dell Neal, Austin, TX.; grandchildren, Shantelle Lashae Reeves, Kadeidra O'Dasha Reeves, Kameron Danielle Reeves, Kyanna  Kaylynn Rogers, (Will) Valdosta, GA, Kevin Lynn Reeves Jr., Ryland Kendall Reeves; great grandchildren, Anasia Lanae Riser and Axiaya London Stevens and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and  friends.
