Funeral service for Mrs. Vera Louise Johnson, 82 of Killeen, TX will be held Friday, November 12, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Killeen Memorial Park Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) at the funeral home.

Mrs. Johnson passed away November 5, 2021 in Copperas Cove, TX.

Vera Louise Moore Johnson was born on June 5, 1939, in Howell, Tennessee to the late Garland Lee Moore and Girdie Blake Moore. Vera was reared in a Christian home, professed a hope in Christ at an early age, and united with Haysland Missionary Baptist Church in Haysland, Tennessee.

Vera also known as "Bibby" was a loving, kind, and generous daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She was united in holy matrimony on March 19, 1957, to Nelson Johnson, Jr. To that union three children were born: Reginald Wayne, Regina Gay, and Rodney Lewis.  Vera traveled extensively with her husband during his military career. She worked for AAFES for 28 years, retiring on July 19, 2002. Vera was a lifetime member of VFW Post 9191 in Killeen, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Johnson, Jr.; her mother and father, Girdie and Garland Moore; brothers: Marvin, Nathaniel, Ray, Mitchell, Ronald, Joe, and Larry; a sister, Nurline Moore McKinney and a grandson, Quintin Jamal Johnson.

She is survived by: her two sons and their wives, Reginald Wayne (Lorene) Johnson of Killeen, Texas, and Rodney Lewis (Sherri) Johnson of Sugar Land, Texas; a daughter, Regina Gay Green of Rosenberg, Texas; grandsons, Jerome Wayne (Paris) Johnson, Jr. and Corey Peterson; granddaughters, Qiana Jovan (Mark) Williams, Jasmine Lynelle Johnson, and Kesha Nicole (Eddie) Ferrias; great-grandchildren, Daeja, Jaia, Jeremiah, and Tatum Johnson, Mariana and Jada Williams, Aaron, Trenton and Katelyn Ferrias; a sister, Reba (Howard) Burrell of Glenwood, New Jersey; a brother-in-law, Freddie McKinney of Fayetteville, Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
