Funeral service for Mrs. Velencia Shunta Ancar, 52 of Killeen, TX will be held Monday, September 13, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial with military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Mrs. Ancar passed way August 30, 2021 in Temple, TX. She was born October 12, 1968 in Bastrop, LA.

The journey for Velencia began in Bastrop, Louisiana. Velencia, affectionately known as "Slim," was born on October 12, 1968 to May Robinson and Earl "E.C." Sylvester. Velencia graduated in 1986 from Paseo High School where she was a majorette, participated in pageants, and in the ROTC program. She was a member of the Kansas City Marching Cobras Drill Team in Kansas City, MO.

Velencia confessed her faith in Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age in Kansas City, MO. She later joined Grace Awakening Church in Killeen, TX. Velencia was a woman of faith and is also known in her loving family as the family's "Historian and Chef!" She faithfully served her country in the U.S. Army from 1987 to 1992 as a Motor Transport Operator. During her time of service, she was required to leave her only daughter at the time (Keyandra) due to military orders, to serve in the Gulf War in Saudi Arabia in 1990.

Velencia had such a huge heart and a lot of love to go around. She had a career in Cosmetology and was certain to leave her clients feeling uplifted by loving on their hair with smiles on their faces. She truly enjoyed helping others in need, supporting all who knew and loved her, and making sure her family was safe and not wanting for anything. She was an invaluable mentor and extended parent to all of her nieces and nephews. She loved many of her dearest friends of over 31 years into becoming an extension of her entire family and are still considered family to this day.

On Monday, August 30, 2021 entered into God's eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her sister, Teronza Sylvester, her brother, Kenneth Brown, her aunts Linda Robinson, Lillie Robinson, & Shelia Robinson; and her grandparents Marine & Willie Robinson. She leaves to cherish her memory: Brandon Ancar, her three children Keyandra Ivey-Gayles, Brandon Ancar II, and Manii Ancar; her siblings Corey Sylvester (Keyuna), Ronald Sylvester, Eric Bethea, Yolanda Bethea, Yushica Bailey (Venus), Calvin Green, Antonio Green, Cedric Washington, Devin Brown, Velma
Williams-Park (Danny), James Hawkins, Jamie Hawkins, James Taylor, Travis Brown, LaRon Sylvester (Erica), LaKeisha "Nikki" McNack; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
