Tod Bonéy (aka Beanie) was born on April 16, 1959 in the Morrisania area of the Bronx to the late Miriam Bonéy and Elijah Bonéy.  Tod departed this world on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights, Texas at the age of 61.

As a child, Tod relocated back to South Carolina as a young boy to live with his beloved grandmother Carrie Frazier Elmore and his aunts/uncles: Elisa (Cookie), Henry, Clarence, Joseph, and Bubba. Tod then returned to Bronx, NY to reside with his mother Miriam, and fell in love with the neighbor's dog 'Flip'.

Tod started his career as a teenager, in a youth group that granted him the opportunity to work in the music industry. He worked at RCA records, Casablanca and then moved on to the record store in Times Square. After Tod graduated from Dewitt Clinton High School, class of 1977, located in Bronx, NY, he went on to pursue his education in a CNA program in 2001. In 2002, he was then employed as a CNA at Brunswick Hospital in Amityville, NY. He was also employed with God's Love, home food delivery service that provided food to HIV/AIDS patients. From 2002 - 2010, he continued his career at Center for Growth and Development as Director of Transportation, (he provided unofficial mobile counseling to each person that came across his presence) and played an intrical role in the success of the company. From there, he went on to work for multiple agencies as a Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health Counselor.

He attended Suffolk Community College in Brentwood, NY where he graduated with a degree in Addiction Studies. He received his CASAC-T through OASIS in Suffolk County Community College. Tod then completed his certification in Tobacco Cessation counseling and became a Tobacco Treatment Specialist at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He was a member of the NAADAC; he received this in February 2021. His passion was for counseling and whistling.

Tod was a SPORTS GURU as he loved his football and basketball. Tod was able to recite STATs from his teenage years to present. In 2016, he was featured on television and interviewed at Bryant Park in NY, NY about his knowledge for sports.

Tod and his wife Mel married February 14, 2019. They honeymooned in the Gulf of Mexico, traveled and began a new chapter in their lives as they settled in Texas with 'Sis'.

He was preceded in death by his mother - Miriam Bonéy, his father - Elijah Bonéy and sister - Persephone (GiGi) Bonéy.

Tod's passing is felt and remembered by many. He was survived by his loving wife Melverne Brookins-Bonéy; his children: Nikki Lanclos, Donell Taylor, Shana Hayes, Tamica Meeks, Tiffany Little and Timothy Little, Cindy Juarez; his grandchildren: Alexandria Bridges, Kolbe Taylor and Donell Taylor Jr. (DJ), Emilia St. Aime, Weston St. Aime, and Dexter Williams III; his siblings: George S. Harris, Cathy Harris-Quailey/Dave Quailey, Charles (Chaz) Greene, Shelley Haskins (Sis); nieces and nephews (Danae Rebecca, Ceanne Harris, Bria Harris, Ava Harris, Johnathan Quailey, Monique Quailey, Sean Quailey, Dexter Williams Jr.); his uncle Henry Elmore, his aunt Barbara Lemon, his mentor Louis 'Lou' McClean, Cousins: Claude, Fritz, Keith, Tonya and many more.

Tod's 'room-commanding demeanor' and symphonic whistling will be forever cherished and remembered by all that knew him.
