It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Suzanne Evelyn Truelsen Perry-Lasley, 75 of Killeen, TX, who passed away peacefully at her home on December 30, 2024. Born on June 13, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, Suzanne lived a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and cherished connections.
A memorial and celebration of Suzanne's life will be held later, time and date, to be determined.
Suzanne was the beloved daughter of Carl Albert Truelsen and Evelyn Truelsen (née Majewski). She spent her early years in Chicago before moving to Arleta, California, and later to Granada Hills in 1960, where she attended Patrick Henry Junior High School and Granada Hills High
School. A popular and social student, Suzanne contributed to her school newspaper and enthusiastically participated in school events, creating many lasting friendships.
Suzanne began her career as a candy striper at a hospital in Panorama City, working alongside her mother. She later held multiple roles at Ralph's Grocery Store, where she worked in the bakery and as a cashier. It was during this time that she met her first husband, Thomas Perry,
with whom she shared four children. Later in life, she worked at a car dealership and co-owned a janitorial service with her second husband, Tyree Lasley.
Suzanne had an incredible zest for life. She loved being surrounded by family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She had a passion for travel, frequently visiting Las Vegas and Hawaii. Known for her love of board games and cards, she also cherished
meaningful conversations with anyone she met. A true animal lover, Suzanne adored her cats and even held a unique affection for rhinoceroses.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her second husband, Tyree Lasley, in February 2020, and is survived by her first husband, Thomas Perry. Her legacy lives on through her children—Cameron Perry, Nicholas Perri, Tracy Perry, and Courtney Jaramillo—and her beloved
grandchildren: Dustin Yuichi Hayashida, Noah Cameron Perry, Daisy Wood, Grace Wood, Deven Tracy Perry, Gabriella Marie Perry, Ayden Nicholas Jaramillo, Angelina Isabella Perry, Kaley Theresa Jaramillo, Gianna Sophia Perry, and Gavin Manuel Jaramillo. She is also survived
by her loving brother, Carl Truelsen.
Suzanne will be remembered for her caring and loving nature. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together and an enduring dedication to her family. Her love, laughter, and desire to know and connect with everyone she met made her the heart of every gathering.
Suzanne Evelyn Truelsen Perry-Lasley will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and all who knew and loved her. Her love and light will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
