Obituary

Funeral service for Mrs. Sung Ok Nichols 76, of Killeen, TX will be held Monday, August 22, 2022, 12:00 p.m. at Woori United Methodist Church in Killeen, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Central Texas state Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 21, 2022 (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX.

Mrs. Nichols passed away August 13, 2022, in Harker Heights, TX.

Sung Ok Nichols was born June 21, 1946, to parents Han Suk and June Lee. She was born and raised in South Korea.

Sung married Donald A. Nichols on June 27, 1967, and she moved with her husband to Fort Gordon, Georgia to start their life together. She followed her husband to many different duty stations throughout his career. Sung attended and completed Cosmetology School in Kansas where she received her Cosmetology License. The family then moved to Texas where she became an entrepreneur and owned and operated Express Cleaners in Killeen, for many years until her retirement.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family. She was devoted to her church family as well. Over the years she has helped many people throughout her family and community.

She was a former member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Killeen, TX, and a present member of Woori United Methodist Church of Killeen, TX. Sung was a long-time member of the Korean American Association and a past president of the organization.

Left to cherish her memories: husband, Donald A. Nichols of Killeen, TX; sons, Keith A. Nichols of Bangladesh, South Asia, and Scott D. Nichols (Lara) of Austin, TX; daughter, Tammy S. Meree (Michael LaCour) of Killeen, TX; brother, Seung Yong Lee (Sung Cha) of Marina Del Rey, CA; grandchildren, Nicholas J. Hart (Shanelle) of Killeen, TX, Mackenzie R. Hart of Killeen, TX, and Stephanie A. Nichols of Austin, Tx; great grandchild, Axel J. Hart; and a host of other family members  and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Han Suk and June Lee, brother Seung Nam Lee, and sister Seung Ae Montgomery.
