Funeral services for Mr. Shawn Allen Alberty 37, of Killeen, Texas will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas. Burial will follow the service at Algoma Cemetery, in Marshall, Texas.

Viewing will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas.

Mr. Alberty passed away July 6, 2024, in Killeen, Texas. He was born September 30, 1986, in Killeen, Texas.

Shawn was born on September 30, 1986, at Fort Hood (Cavazos), Killeen, Texas. He was an Army brat and attended school in Hanau, Germany, St Louis, MO, Granite City, IL, Columbia, SC, Sherwood, AR, and Killeen, Texas.

He was a devoted father, son, uncle, brother, and a friend. He was family-oriented and considered to be the glue of the family. Shawn had the gift of gab and was an amazing storyteller. His favorite thing to do was to tell stories during family time. Shawn loved to laugh and joke with his dynamic personality and would brighten up any room he walked into. His energy was magnetic, and he was able to see the good in any situation. Shawn was extremely caring and had a beautiful heart which made encouraging others come naturally to him.

Shawn departed this life on July 6, 2024. He is proceeded in death by his father, David A. Alberty; Maternal Grandparents, Samuel and Annie Marie (Lane) Brown, Paternal Grandparents, Adolphus Oxford and Pearlie Mae (Alberty) English.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Glora Brown-Alberty; two sons, Jacori Cooper-Alberty and Shawn Alberty Jr; two daughters, Ladaija and Serenity Alberty; three sisters, Shariyun (Lamont) Lawson, Shani' (Jamal) Jackson, and Shar'ron Y. Alberty; Great Aunt, Ruth Ella (Lane) Williams and a host of extended family and friends.
