Obituary

Funeral service for Mrs. Shantee LaSundra Brunson-Barnes, 41 of Nolanville, TX will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service (12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.

Mrs. Shantee LaSundra Brunson-Barnes born Shantee LaSundra Brunson, July 20, 1979 in Jackson, MS., to Larry Taylor and Ceria Brunson.

Shantee accepted Christ at an early age at Miracle Temple Church of Deliverance of Jackson, MS. Shantee attended Jackson Public Schools until graduation in 1998. Shan's passion was always helping other people. She got her CNA license and began working in nursing homes all
around Jackson and surrounding areas. Shantee knew there was more she wanted to do so she became certified as a pharmacy technician.

Shantee met a young man we know as Rod in 2001 and began to build a life together. As this relationship grew so did their desires. They relocated to Texas in 2006 where she continued helping the elderly until she began having health issues. They added their fur baby, Blue, to their family in
2012. Shantee and Rod were united in matrimony in February 2013. Shantee began her journey as a Med Aide with UTMB in May 2013 until her transition on May 20, 2021.

Shantee was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents and her Mother-in-law. Shantee leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted Husband, Rogerdan Barnes of Nolanville, TX, fur baby, Blue Barnes of Nolanville, TX, bonus Son, Deshuntez Barnes of Jackson, MS, Father, Larry Taylor of Jackson, MS, Mother, Ceria Brunson of Nolanville, TX, Bonus Father, Marion Lindsey (Cornelius) of Flora, MS, Sisters, Ceria ( Lawrence) Mickles of Killeen, TX, Ashley Brunson of Nolanville, TX, Sister-in-law, Tamitha (Kenneth) Bunton of Harker Heights, TX, Brother-inlaw, Leerence Barnes of Killeen, TX, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
