Funeral services for Mr. Shahiyd Ahmed Gaston 23, of Killeen will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service (10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m.).

Shahiyd Ahmed Gaston, 23, was the youngest of nine children. Born to Messiah Allah and Waleska Gaston, Shahiyd made his grand entrance into this world on May 30th, 2000, in Reading, Pennsylvania and thus began to paint the canvas of his life.

Shahiyd began his formative education in the Reading Pennsylvania School district until he was 10 years old. Shahiyd's parents then migrated to Killeen, Texas in 2010, where Shahiyd continued his education in the Killeen School district. While attending Killeen High School he played for the football team as a tackle. Shahiyd played football and basketball all throughout his childhood and educational career up until his recent passing. In true Shahiyd form on January 17th, 2019, he graduated H.S. months ahead of his class.

Shahiyd accepted Christ into his life and was baptized December 9th, 2012. As he grew older, he took after his brother Fruquan Gaston and father Messiah Allah and decided to convert. He recited the Shahadah and took his oath to Islam on September 2nd, 2018.

Shahiyd was everyone's favorite uncle. Shahiyd was adventurous, kind, charismatic, and had an infectious smile that would light up every room he entered. Shahiyd loved all things sports, from skateboarding, to basketball, football, to teaching a few of his nieces and nephews to swim. Shahiyd could often be found taking walks, drawing, driving, but his favorite things were playing video games, listening to music, and spending time with his family and friends.

Shahiyd leaves to mourn his father Messiah Allah and his mother Waleska Gaston. His grandmother Rafaela Rivera Berrios. Shahiyd also leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with his siblings: Ebony Corner of Killeen, TX; Taquanna Manning of Philadelphia, PA; Neferteria Corner of Lexington, SC; Shakeema Manning of Philadelphia, PA; Fruquan Gaston of Reading, PA; Fatima Gaston of Douglasville, GA; Yazmin Perez of Killeen, TX and Siara Perez of Denver, CO, 5 nieces, 12 nephews, 3 aunts, 3 uncles, a host of cousins, family, and close friends.

Shahiyd will be missed immensely.
