Russell Allen Clinton, Jr., was born on February 19, 1949, to the late Russell Allen Clinton, Sr., and Virginia Madeline Brooks in Camden, New Jersey. His grandparents were Clifford Alexander Brooks, and Ellenor Brooks of Philadelphia. He passed away August 17, 2024, in Killeen, TX.

He was a 1967 graduate of South Philadelphia High School and was a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army who proudly served as a supply sergeant and one of the last Buffalo Soldiers until November 17, 1978.

On August 1, 1974, he married his wife of fifty years, Lilly May Clinton. That beautiful union brought three children, Joyce Sims of Memphis, Tennessee, Roshelle Clinton of Killeen, Texas, and Ava Clinton of Killeen, Texas.

After over twenty years of service, Russell retired as a correctional officer from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Some of the things he enjoyed doing with his free time were watching NASCAR, going fishing, and playing chess with his children and grandchildren.

In his devotion to Christ, Russell was an usher for many years and a member of the brotherhood choir.

His memories are left to be cherished by: his wife, Lilly May Clinton; three daughters, Joyce Sims (Anthony), Roshelle Clinton, and Ava Clinton; eight grandchildren, Monica Cauley, Silas Harrell, Sir Micheal Sims, Jazmyne Sims, Earl Brooks, Dominique Brooks, Stephen Runyon, and Jayden Brooks; nine great-grandchildren, Tiara Harrell, Trenton Findley, LaDrius Harrell, LaShunti Harrell, Troy Sims, Travis Sims, Caidence Harrell, Taliyah Sims, and Kenzlie Harrell; one great-great-grand, DeShun Harrell; sister, Diane Washington; sisters-in-law, Rose Chislom (Phillip) and Anna Bell Dawson; brother-in-law, Nathaniel Phoenix (Leola); family through love, Robert Leslie, Lafonda Leslie, Tommy Brewer, Antonio Brooks, and Leroy Robinson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
