Funeral service for Mrs. Rosetta Stinson, 85 of Killeen, TX will be held Thursday, January 12, 2022, 12:00 p.m. at the Christian House of Prayer in Copperas Cove, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) at the church.

Mrs. Stinson passed away December 31, 2022, in Harker Heights, TX.

Rosetta Holden Stinson was born March 7, 1937, in Robeline, Louisiana, to the late James Malachi and Roseanna Holden.

Shortly after graduating from Natchitoches Central High, she married Robert Lee Stinson, Sr. on January 5, 1958, and from this union of 63 years came five children.   Rosetta was saved at an early age and was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend G. A. Cox. Rosetta and her sisters were active members of the Evergreen Choir.  She also attended Comanche Chapel in Fort Hood and joined Christian House of Prayer (CHOP) under the leadership of the late Bishop Holcomb in 2000. She graduated with honors from Speak the Word School of Ministries class of 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Theology, and Sonship School of the Firstborn, class of 2009. She remained an active member at CHOP under the leadership of Pastor Valerie Holcomb until her health failed. She was a faithful member and enjoyed worshipping every Sunday, and faithfully attending Wednesday night Bible study and Men's and Women's conferences. She had recently become a part of the Good Grief Widows & Widower's ministry. Robert and Rosetta were members of CHOP's Super Saints' Ministry where Rosetta was the treasurer for many years.

Rosetta was a dedicated wife and mother to her children and family.  She was also known to be someone who loved the Lord, her family, cooking and sewing. She had many exceptional talents, such as being a master seamstress and worked for Dillard's Department store as an Alteration Specialist and maintained her own successful sewing business for many years.  There was nothing she could not sew. She made numerous wedding dresses, men and women clothing suits and alterations.

Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents James and Roseanna Holden, her husband, Robert L. Stinson, and 12 brothers and sisters. Left to cherish her love and memories are five children: Joseph R. Stinson (Delores) of Pflugerville, Texas, Verna Stinson of Pflugerville, Texas, Esther Renee Walker (Derrick) of Killeen, Texas, Robert L. Stinson, Jr. (Shon) of Lancaster, Texas, Lisa Stinson of Haslet, Texas; two sisters:  Annie Mae Garret of Houston, Texas and Margaret Mallard of Houston, Texas; one sister-in-law, Frankie Eison (James) from Charlotte North Carolina; five grandchildren: Brit'ny N. Stinson, Damon R. Stinson, Daniel R. Stewart,II, Dominic R. Stewart (Catria Taylor), Robert L. Stinson, III, Brandon Brown and Miguel Gray; four great-grandchildren: Kinley Rose Petitt, Laila Jackson, Alexandria Jackson and Rashawn Stewart; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, including a close family friend, Althea Owens.
