Robin Lenora Wilder went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 28, 2023. She was born on June 10, 1962, to Robert Smiley and Joy
Davis in Pasadena, California.
At church growing up she was one of the standard bearers, an all-girls group that had the reponsibility of bearing the standard of Christ.
She also sang in the church choir, was in drill team, and in her senior year became a varsity cheerleader at Pasadena High School. She
graduated there with the Class of 1980.
As Robin entered adulthood, she met the love of her life, Steve, in 1989. In the year 1990, they married each other in Altadena, California.
She served as Steve's wife for 32 years until her passing.
She enjoyed watching her children succeed in extracurricular activities and attended every event possible. She served as a member of the
Shoemaker High School Athletic Club from 2000-2006 and as a Band Booster officer from 2005-2011. Not only was she a mother figure to her
children, but to her children's peers as well.
In 2014, she became a member of the Child Evangelism Fellowship and group leader for the Good News Club. She had a passion for teaching the word of God to children in hopes that they would accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
Those that knew her knew her as Mom, Auntie Robin, Grammy, Sister Wilder, Ms. Robin, and Mrs. Wilder. She was a friendly, giving, loving,
kind, and gentle person who always made everyone feel welcomed. Everyone knew Robin as a great listener that gave great, sound advice and
never judged you. Instead, she encouraged you to be a better you. Her wisdom, knowledge, and love of God was shared not only with her family,
but with others as well. The love of Christ dwelled within her, and was often mentioned in the talks she had with all of us. She often expressed
her wish that her entire family and those that she came in contact with would all have a personal relationship with the Lord as she did.
Preceding Robin in death were both of her parents, Robert Smiley and Joy Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Steve Wilder; children, Darren Smiley-Taylor (Grisel Delgado), Daniel Taylor (Lisset), Steven Wilder, Jr., and Stephanie Wilder; grandchildren, Kingsley, Somaya, and Ezekiel; siblings, Karl Davis (Betsy), John Davis (Frances), Gary Davis, Joann Ries-Carter (Paul), and Gaynell Smiley-Ross (Jerry); and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
