Funeral services for Mr. Richard Washington, Jr., 70 of Nolanville, TX will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial with military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2021, (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.

Richard Washington, Jr. was born February 19, 1951 in Beaufort, SC to the late Richard and Queenie Washington. He departed this life on July 12, 2021.

Richard moved to Philadelphia, PA as a teen where he was then raised by his aunt and uncle, Louise and Henry Young. He was educated in the Philadelphia School system. He ran track in school, and boy could he run. Richard enlisted in the United States Marines in 1971. He served in the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with Service Star. After completing his active tour he then transitioned to the Reserves where he rose to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

Richard married his teenage sweetheart, Arzella Tillman and they remained married for 47 years. Richard worked at the Philadelphia Veterans Hospital for many years doing janitorial work. He was a man of many talents like plumbing, electrical work, roofing, computer repair and he even dabbled in arboriculture.

Richard was a member of Evangel Temple Church of Deliverance in Philadelphia, PA under the ministry of the late Revs. Alphonzer Patrick and
Hazel Patrick.

Richard leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Arzella Washington; sons Richard Washington, III (Antionette), Julius W.S. Washington (Sabriya), Daniel White (Amanda ), and Josh White (Symone); daughters Latwainia Tillman, Iesha Robinson, and Iris White; granddaughters Alexius Crawford (Jeffrey), Tori Hamilton, White; grandsons Julius S.S. Washington, Justus L. Washington, Josiah White and Andre White; great grandsons Jeffrey Crawford and Jordan Goudeau; great granddaughters Nevaeh Hamilton and Kyliegh Crawford; brothers Fredrick Washington (Ozzie), Charles Washington (Kathleen) and Benjamin Washington (Cynthia); sister, Priscilla (Tajudeen); sister-in-law, Lela Lewis (John) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Richard Washington, Jr was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Queenie Washington, sister Helen Washington and brother Samuel
Washington.
