Funeral service for Retired SSG Thomas Marzette Bivins 62 of Copperas Cove, TX will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen,TX. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024 (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX.

Thomas Marzette Bivins was born May 4, 1962, to Barbara Joanne Wilson in Cordele, GA. He passed away August 24, 2024, in Temple, TX.

Thomas joined the United States Army on 15 Sep 1982 and retired 30 Sep 2002, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After retirement he worked at Mattress and More, the Fort Hood Visitors Center and the Waco VA.  He truly enjoyed helping veterans at his job.

In his spare time, he loved fishing, bowling, and shooting pool.

Thomas leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Edwina Bivins; three children, Keon Stewart, Andrea Bivins and  Shanekia Bivins; two grandchildren, Keoni Sofia Stewart and Dante Luka Ritter; his mother, Barbara Joanne Wilson Bivins; sister, Barbara Denice Whitehead (belated husband) Mr. William Whitehead; brother, Cleveland Russell Bivins; niece, Miranda Lanford; nephews, Willliam Whitehead Jr., Warren Whitehead Jr., Kelvin Whitehead, Cleveland Russell Bivins Jr., and Chase Deshon Bivins; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by:  his grandmother, Geranium Wilson; and aunt, Legertha Burnes.
