Funeral service for Retired CSM Roosevelt Jack Turner Jr., 80 of Killeen, TX will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church in Killeen, TX. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2025 (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX.

Mr. Turner passed away September 19, 2025, in Temple, TX. He was born October 18, 1944, in Columbus, GA.

CSM (Ret) Roosevelt Jack Turner, Jr. was born in Colombus, GA. on October 18, 1944, to the late Mr. Roosevelt Jack Turner, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Eva Turner. He was called by his heavenly Father on September 19,2025. CSM Ret Roosevelt Turner Jr. resided in Killeen, Texas for 39 years.

CSM (Ret) Roosevelt Turner entered the United States Army, in June 1962. He was a part of Airborne and Special Forces. He attended Sergeant Major Academy in Ft. Bliss, Tx in 1979. Upon completion of studies and training he was promoted to Command Sergeant Major in 1981. His military career consisted of several duty stations including Panama, Ft. Bliss TX, Ft. Bragg, NC, Karstadt Germany, his final duty station being Ft. Polk, LA. He relocated to Ft. Hood/Killeen, TX in June of 1986.

CSM (Ret) Roosevelt Jack Turner, Jr. met and married his lovely wife Sonia A. Turner of 46 years in Colon Panama. They moved to Ft. Hood/Killeen in June 1986. Together they called this place home until his passing.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, the late Mr. Roosevelt Jack Turner, Sr. and Mother Mary Eva Turner; sister, Sonja Aretha Turner Flanagan and brother Ethan Allen Turner.

He is survived by: his lovely wife, Sonia A. Turner; daughters, Jacquelyn Turner of Atlanta, GA and Darlene Smith of Lester, Al; son, Don Darden (Sharon) of Augusta, GA; brother, Thaddeus Turner, Sr. of Baltimore, MD; he also leaves 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
