Funeral service for Retired SSG Robert Earl Green, Sr.  75, of Harker Heights, Texas will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Christian House of Prayer in Copperas Cove, TX. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 6, 2021 (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX.

Mr. Green Passed away November 25, 2021, in Harker Height, Texas.

Retired SSG Robert Earl Green Sr., was born on February 17, 1946, in Big Spring, Texas to Walter and Sallie B. Green. He was the 6 ^th of 7 children.

Robert enlisted in the United States Army in November 1965. Three years later Robert met and married the love of his life, Joann Jackson on February 18, 1968, in Midland, Texas. To this union two beautiful children were born: Monique and Robert II.

While serving in the army Robert was assigned to various duty stations throughout his military career. He honorably served his country for 20 years and retired November 30, 1985, at Fort Hood, Texas. He received the Army Commendation Medal/ Army Conduct Medal (Silver, 1 loop)/ National Defense Service Medal/ Vietnam Service Medal (w/2 Bronze Service Stars)/ Army Service Ribbon/ Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 2)/ Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation (w/Palm)/ Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal/ Driver & Mechanic Badge (w/Driver-W).

After retiring from the military, the Lord placed in Robert's spirit to still be of service to others. He became a drug and alcohol counselor in 1994. For 12 years he made it his mission to counsel and minister lessons that would turn so many men and women lives around for the better no matter their background, whether it was to counsel, or to give sound advice, or even if they just needed a prayer. Everything he did, he made sure to do it with the faith and love from the Lord.

Robert served faithfully as a deacon and in other ministries at Westside Baptist Church in Killeen. He later joined the Christian House of Prayer in Copperas Cove/Killeen, Texas. He became a licensed minister through Covenant Connections International (CCI) and was a graduate of Sonship School of the Firstborn, class of 2012. He devoted his time serving in the Usher Ministry, Safe Harbor Ministry, Jail and Prison Ministry and Reach Out and Touch Ministry.

Robert loved serving the Lord by encouraging and ministering the word of God. As a man of strong faith, he touched so many lives with his wisdom, words of encouragement and selfless acts. Not only did he walk by faith, but he led by example.

Robert loved spending time and making memories with family and friends. He made the time to visit, call and check on his family and friends. He enjoyed attending family reunions, bowling, playing dominoes and other competitive sports.

Left to cherish his memory: is his wife of 53 years, JoAnn Green of Harker Heights, TX; children: Robert E. Green II of Seattle Washington and Monique L. Green of Petersburg, VA; five grandchildren: Bobby Green, Eboni Walton, Keyonna Howard, Karinna Green, and Johnathan Green; five great granddaughters: Amara, Maliya, Mia, Malani, and Genesis; brothers Nathaniel Green and El Roy Green (Debra), sister, Pearlie Crawford (Leon); and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Sallie B. Green; two brothers Eugene Moten, Jr. and Johnnie Green; and two sisters Elouise Graves and Willie L. Green.
