Funeral services for Retired 1SG Maurice Lewis, 56 of Killeen, TX will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022, 12:00 p.m. at Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church in Copperas Cove, TX. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) at the church.

Maurice Lewis was born April 16, 1965, to the late Levern and Carolyn Lewis in Birmingham, Alabama.

Maurice graduated from A.H. Parker High School in 1983 and received his Bachelor's Degree in Transportation and Logistic Management in 2014.

In 1983, Maurice joined the United States Army where he served 24 years and retired in 2007. After retirement, he was employed as a Logistic Management Specialist for the federal government.

Maurice was an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He also was active in various fraternal and community organizations during his lifetime.

Maurice leaves to cherish his many loving memories: wife, Lisa Lewis of Killeen, Texas; three sons, Maurice Jr., Donte Boone (Rhiannon) of Quinton, Virginia, Marquis; a daughter Jahara of Woodbridge, Virginia; one brother, Derrick (Torlice) of Trussville, Alabama; one sister, Wanda Siglor (Roderick) of Leeds, Alabama; three uncles, Harold (Patricia Ann) Palmore, Charles Palmore (Ellery Wilson) and Webster Palmore of Birmingham, Alabama; one aunt, Daisy Carter of Detroit, Michigan; nephews, Derrick, Erik, Casey, Rian, Dakotah, Brent and Dehreon; nieces, Brianna, Devin and Katelyn; grandchildren, Journey, Jada, Avanni and Amari. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of cousins and friends.
