Funeral service for Retired CSM Marcellus Speight, Jr., 78 of Killeen, TX will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial with military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.

Mr. Speight passed away March 10, 2021 in Harker Heights, TX.

Marcellus Speight, Jr. was born to the late Marcellus Sr. & Beulah Speight on September 10, 1942.

After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. He traveled the world and retired after serving 30 years in the military. Marcellus married Geneva Reed while in the military and had 4 children.

Later he met the love of his life, Gloria Fletcher while stationed at Ft. Hood.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, one son Michael, two brothers, Edward, and Anthony.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife of 26 years, Gloria F. Speight; his one son, Marcellus III, two daughters, Marcellina Speight & Brenda Wooley (Plez), three sisters, Montee Baker, Desiree Joyner, Uelah Mae Taylor (Rev. Randolph), Sheila Speight, one brother, James Speight. Two bonus children, Terri T. Williams (Rick), Walter Thompson (Valarie). Nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
