Funeral services for Retired MAJ Louis Frederick Roos 85, of Killeen, TX will be held Friday, June 12, 2026, 12:00 p.m., at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home, Killeen, TX. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at 2:00 p.m., at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, TX.

Louis Frederick Roos passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, in Harker Heights, TX.

He was born on September 23, 1940, in Rosenberg, at Fort Bend Hospital, to Arnold M. Roos and Olivia Roos. He attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches before earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe. He later received his Master of Divinity degree from Evangelical Theological Seminary, now known as Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary.

On June 25, 1964, he married Sara Weatherly, with whom he shared many years of life and ministry. He later married Chong Yon Evans on January 9, 2024, following a cherished five-year friendship.

A devoted servant of God, he faithfully preached for many years in Louisiana, Illinois, California, and Texas, touching countless lives through his ministry, compassion, and dedication to his faith.

In addition to his ministry, he proudly served in the United States Army, where he became a Major and Chaplain, providing spiritual guidance and support to those serving their country.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. and Mrs. A. M. Roos, and his sister, Evelyn, who was a nurse.

He is survived by his wife, Chong Yon Evans; his adopted daughter, Tephanie Tedford and her husband Josh; grandchildren Sara and Cody; grandson Cody Ford and his wife Kammie; and great-grandchildren Kaylee and Zachary. Stepchildren and step grandchildren: Jacqueline Beauchamp (spouse Anthony and son Christian); and stepson Andre Evans (spouse Raina, daughter Hailey and son Anthony).

He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, service to others, love for family, and dedication to ministry and country. His legacy of kindness, wisdom, and devotion will live on in all who knew and loved him.
