Funeral service for Retired SFC Lupece Marie Howard-Talley, 63 of Killeen, TX will be held Thursday, March 31, 2022, 12:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX Burial with full military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.
Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.
Mrs. Talley passed away March 16, 2022, in Round Rock, TX.
Lupece Marie Howard-Talley was born November 7, 1958, in Waterproof, LA to parents Lupece Kelly and Percy Turner. She graduated from Waterproof High School in Waterproof, LA.
After graduation Lupece enlisted in the United States Army in October of 1983 and served for over 20 years. She served her country proudly and received an honorable discharge August 31, 2004. Her medals and awards include: The Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Superior Unit Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, NATO Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Southwest Asia Service Medal.
After her military career Lupece was contracted overseas for over 14 years and continued her career as an Environmental Specialist until retirement in July 2021. She was in the local area for over 22 years. She was an Eastern Star in Waterproof, LA.
Left to cherish her memory: her husband, Frank L. Talley; daughters, LaKesha Turner (granddaughter, Ja'Nyiea Turner, and grandson, Marquil Hattaway), Felicia (Michael Johnson) Williams (granddaughter, Anjanae Williams), Frankie Talley (grandson, Bentley Talley), and Endia Talley; siblings, Tracy Holmes (Joseph), Betty Kelly, George Kelly, and Marlyn Smith (Bruce); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Lupece was preceded in death by her mother, Lupece Kelly; father, Percy Turner; son, Curtis Turner; brothers, Barney Cole, Larry Cole, Danny Turner, Percy Cole, and Granger Turner.
