Funeral service for Retired SFC Leonce "Lee" Joseph Duplechin, 83 of Killeen, TX will be held Monday, November 7, 2022, 12:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service (11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.

Leonce "Lee" Joseph Duplechin was born on March 24, 1939, to Esther Foreman and Duplicie Duplechin in Sulphur, Louisiana. He went quietly into eternity on the early morning of Friday, October 28, 2022.

Immediately after high school, Lee joined the U.S. Army. In the military, he served as a communication electronics operation chief. After a 23- year career with the military, Lee honorably retired as a Vietnam War Veteran. After his retirement, he continued to work as a painter for the Civil Service.

While working as a painter Lee met Louvenia Ingram, a fellow coworker. They fell in love and were married on April 26th, 2004. In this marriage, he inherited three loving stepdaughters in Dallas, TX: Kassandra Reece, Bridgett Perry, and Shelby Reece. He also became a step grandfather to three grandsons and recently, a great granddaughter.

From a prior marriage, Lee had a stepdaughter named Leisa Duplechin in Knox, Indiana. Leisa has five children, nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. In his free time Lee loved to listen to music, collect antiques, fish at local lakes and ponds, and cook his favorite cajun food dishes.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Esther Foreman and Duplicie Duplechin. His sisters Louella Suarez, Dorothy Elaine Kimbell, and Rebecca Pago; his brothers Jerome Jimmy Duplechin, and Lester Paul Duplechin.

He is survived by his wife, Louvenia Duplechin of Killeen, TX. His brother Richard Duplechin (Laurie) of Hayward, California; sisters Wanda Duplechin Jones (Danny) and Vernita Duplechin Ancelet (Wayne) of Sulphur, Louisiana; four stepdaughters, grand children, and great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews who love him dearly; and a close friend, Jack Best, who continued to be loyal to Lee until his passing.
