Funeral services for Retired SSG Julian Frederick Foster, Sr., 76 of Killeen, TX will be held Monday, May 23, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.
Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) at the funeral home.
Mr. Foster passed away May 8, 2022, in Killeen, TX.
Julian Frederick Foster, Sr. was born November 28, 1945, to parents Dauphne Taylor and Joseph Foster in Colon, Panama. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in Panama City, Panama.
Shortly after he graduated, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 and served in the Vietnam War. He served his country proudly until 1984, which he received an honorable discharge. His medals and awards include: The Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal (Numeral 1), Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal (w/Bronze, 4 loops), National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 2), Vietnam Service Medal (w/3 Bronze Service Stars), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Assault Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry (w/Palm), Sharpshooter (Rifle), and the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 1).
After his military career Julian was employed with LaQuinta Inn Hotels and Scott & White Hospital in Temple, TX as an ENT Tech. He was also employed with TDJC in Gatesville and Huntsville, TX.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Lorna M. Foster of Killeen, TX; four sons, Craig (Robyn) Foster of Colorado, Tyler Foster of Colorado, Julian Frederick Foster, Jr of Texas, Leonardo Nathaniel (Toni) Foster of Texas; five grandchildren, Dalen Stump, Elke Foster, Lilly Foster, Julisia Elizabeth Foster and Leonardo Nathaniel Foster, Jr., sister, Nola Foster and sister-in-law, Regina Foster both of Killeen, TX; nephews, Joseph V. Foster and Kenneth C. Samuels Sr., and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dauphne Foster, and daughter, Elke Hope Foster.
