Graveside service with full military honors for Retired SFC John Jacob Richardson 73, of Killeen, TX will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, 10:00 a.m., at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas.
Mr. Richardson passed away June 5, 2021, in Round Rock, Texas.
SFC John Jacob Richardson was born on November 22, 1947, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Luke and Louise Richardson. He graduated in 1965 from Druid High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
He joined the United States Army in 1965. He was stationed in Istanbul, Korea, German, Vietnam, Fort Still, OK, Fort Sam Houston, and Fort Hood, TX. He served 19 years in the military. While serving his country he received the following awards: Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal 6 th Award, Army Service Ribbon, Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon numeral 3, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal (2).
SFC Richardson was a resident of Killeen, TX. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign War post #9191, American Legion, and the Disabled Veteran Association. He enjoyed socializing and engaging in the community. He loved life and his family.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Joyce Richardson of Killeen, TX; children, Carla Jones of Dallas, TX, Eleanor (Lee) Grace of Anchorage, AK, Diane Farmer of Waco, TX, and Mayaka Martin of Killeen, TX; grandchildren, NeoNeshia (Eric) Stovall of McKinney, TX, Isaiah Farmer of Dallas, TX, Darius Bellbey of Houston, TX, Kyondra (Justin) Peterson of Fort Hood, TX, Raisa Adams (Omar Pace) of Killeen, TX, Zaire Sharkey of Waco, TX, Kayla Murray of Houston, TX, and Nikalaus Demara of Anchorage, AK; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; nephew, Timothy Richardson and niece, Renee Kelly.
