Funeral services for Retired SFC John Andre Jones 51, of Killeen, Texas will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church in Killeen, Texas. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas.

Mr. Jones passed away April 9, 2023, in Killeen, Texas. He was born October 10, 1971, St. Louis, MO.

John Andre Jones (Jay), born October 10, 1971, passed away peacefully on Resurrection Sunday, April 9, 2023, at 12:32 a.m. surrounded by his loving and devoted wife of 27 years and other loved ones. Loving husband of Damar Kathy Roscoe-Jones. God blessed this divine union with (2) sons: Joshua Antonio Jones, and Jamond Alexander Jones. He leaves (1) daughter, Johneshia Jones, (2) godsons- Xavier Trenton Johnson, and Camden Omari Showers, and a granddaughter- Aliyah Collier. Son of the late John Neely. John is survived by his mother- Mrs. Betty Jones-Faust, (2) sisters: Ladonna McCaleb and Winifred Jones. Jay has (2) brothers Homer Jones, and Paris Elbert, of East St. Louis, IL. Son-in-law of Rev. Vera B. Roscoe and the late Lamar N. Roscoe. Also survived by (5) sisters-in-law: Deborah V. Banks, Denise B. Lloyd, Donna B. Johnson, Charlotte A. Banks, and Angela B. Roscoe. He leaves 27 nieces and nephews.

Jay was a graduate of Central Texas College 1999. He graduated in 1989 from Lincoln Senior High School, East St. Louis, IL. Jay retired from the United States Army on June 1, 2016. Past Master Jay 33rd was an active member of the United Supreme Council 33 degrees of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Prince Hall Affiliation, Northern Jurisdiction, USA Inc. Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Prince Hall Affiliated, Phi Beta Sigma's 1st Vice President and Social Action Director of Theta Delta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. National Panhellenic Council of Killeen-Fort Hood Representative. Lifetime member of the Benjamin O. Davis Post #9191, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Killeen, TX. Served as Vice President of the Killeen Volunteer, Inc.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Westside Baptist Church, Killeen, TX; Yahweh House of Prayer, Enterprise, AL; and Culpepper Christian Church, Seoul, Korea. Special thanks to the dedicated and caring staff of Veteran Affairs Hospice Center, New Century Hospice staff, Visiting Angels Living Assistance Services staff, Baylor Scott and White Cancer Medical Center- Gastroenterology Center (Temple, TX), and MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, TX).

Jay loved and praised the Lord until his final breath. He was a joyous and quiet giant man, but his words were mighty. Jay loved his wife and children dearly. Jay displayed his love for his family openly and unapologetically. He is in heaven now grilling steaks and ribs for the Lord.

Jay is preceded in death by his father, John Neely, (2) brothers Darwin and Rolando Neeley, grandmother Estelle M. Jones, father-in-law Lamar N. Roscoe, and (6) brothers-in-law Ronald Banks, Samuel Banks, Cedric Banks, Harold Banks, Troy Roscoe, and John Johnson.
