Funeral service for Retired SFC (Bishop) Jessie Lee Edmond, Jr., 72 of Copperas Cove, TX will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial with military honors will followed the service at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Edmond passed away February 8, 2021 in Killeen, TX.

Bishop Dr. Jessie Lee Edmond Jr was born on July 6, 1948, to Jessie Mae Ford Lott and Jessie Lee Edmond Sr in Hooks, Texas. Growing up in Hooks, Texas and the Twin Cities of Texarkana, he was raised by his grandmother, Mrs. Addie Lot from around the age of 6 years old until becoming a young man.

He enlisted in the Army and SFC (Sergeant First Class) Jessie L. Edmond Jr was then drafted to Vietnam during the war in 1969. He did two tours with his father and brother, Roy Edmond. Together they defended our country from 1971-1972. He was also deployed to Panama during the war in 1989. SFC Edmond's first duty station was Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, then he was stationed in Ramstein/Landstuhl, Germany and then he returned back to the United States and retired after 21 years of dedicated military service. While serving on active duty he received numerous military decorations, badges and medals, ranging from Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal to the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Medal. His commitment and dedication to his family and military service speaks volumes.

While in the Armed Forces SFC Jessie Edmond met the love of his life, Delilah Thompson. After courting for a period of time and falling in love they married January 12, 1969. They went on to have four beautiful children, three daughters and one son. He also has a daughter, Daphene Edmond from a previous marriage, as well as a son from a previous relationship, Curtis Rollins.

Jessie Edmond Jr accepted the Lord as his personal Saviouin 1975 in Frankfurt, Germany, where he became a member of Frankfurt Church of God In Christ. He started as an usher and then a deacon. He knew there was a calling on his life to preach and teach the Word of God. He was later ordained as a Minister and then an Elder. He went on to pastor and open multiple churches. He opened the first church on the military base in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky at Chapel 6, then he started a church in Meisau, Germany in 1986 (Meisau Church of God In Christ) and another church in Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 19.

Returning to the United States he then opened a church in Copperas Cove, Texas, New Vision Church of Fellowship, where he was ordained as a Bishop.

Bishop Jessie L. Edmond Jr truly loved the Lord with every fiber of his being, he loved his family and held them close to his heart as well as his friends.

There is so much that Bishop Edmond has accomplished on this earth, but the most important aspect of his life was his commitment to God as a man of God, as a preacher, as a pastor, as an amazing husband and awesome father! He went on to finish his college education and graduated with a Phd in Theology from Mississippi

Edmond Jr will truly be missed, eternally loved, remembered, and cherished through memory of his beloved wife, Delilah Edmond of Copperas Cove, TX; his daughter, Daphene Edmond (Elzie) of Dallas, TX; his son, Curtis Rollins (Michelle) of Seattle, Washington; his daughter, Leslie Henderson (Dennis) of Las Vegas, NV; his son, Jesse L. Edmond III (Makesha) of Alabama; his daughter, Christa Edmond of Killeen, TX; Brothers- Henry Edmond of Tulsa, OK; Roy Edmond of Little Rock, Ark; Nathan Edmond (Laverne) of Edmond, OK; Donald Edmond of Lawton, OK; Sheldon Edmond (Denise) of Lawton, OK; Earl Edmond (Gennerall) of Lawton, OK; Jessie N. Edmond (Tabitha) of Tulare, CA; Sisters- Janice Edmond Trevino of Dallas, TX; Samantha Edmond of Lawton, OK; Delores Anderson (Larry) of Lawton, OK; Rachel Marchbanks of Lawton, OK; Darlien Edmond Currie (Oliver) of Tulare, CA; Janice Jones of Dallas, TX.

He was preceded in death by his second oldest daughter, Kysha Edmond-Gray, his father, Jessie L. Edmond Sr., his mother, Jessie Mae Ford; brother, David Edmond; and his sister, Tenisha Edmond. His works and dedication to the Lord shall live on in the lives of those he ministered to and touched. His memory will be cherished by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
