Graveside service with military honors for Retired MSG James Edward Thomas, 84 of Killeen, TX will be held Thursday, June 10, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Mr. Thomas passed away May 29, 2021 in Round Rock, TX.

James Edward Thomas, Sr. was born January 4, 1937, in Edgefield, SC.

James enlisted in the United States Army and served his country proudly for 30 years and received an honorable discharge. His medals, ribbons and awards include: The Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (w/3 OLC, Purple Heart, Army Good Conduct Medal (w/Silver 5 loops), National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 4), Vietnam Service Medal (w/1 Silver and 1 Bronze Service Star), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal (w/60 Device), Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry (w/Palm), NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4) Expert Badge(Pistol and Rifle), Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions  Honor Medal, and the Meritorious Unit Citation.

Left to cherish his memory: daughter, Theresa Fatty; son, James Thomas, Jr.; grandchildren, Paris, Sabree, James III, Kali, and Kingston; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rosa Thomas (Keller), his mother and father, and six brothers.
