Funeral Service for Retired SSG Herman "Pete" Felts will be held on Tuesday December 28, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Anderson Chapel AME Church, in Killeen, TX.  Burial with full military honors will follow the service at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Retired SSG Herman Felts was born November 5, 1944, to the late Mr. Walter Henry and Mrs. Julia Mae Felts in Roberta, Georgia. To this union, Herman was the youngest born of nine children.

Herman was educated in the public schools of Crawford County, Georgia. In 1967 Herman enlisted into the United States Army where he served for 20 years, during which he fought in the Vietnam War twice and travel to a multitude of other places.

It was upon his arrival to Texas that he met the love of his life, Gailoyn Degrate. On May 14, 1973, Herman and Gailoyn were united in marriage. From this blessed union yielded two sons, Tyrone and Darrick; and two daughters, Angela and Kimberly.

Retired SSG Herman Felts transitioned from this life to his heavenly home on December 14, 2021, at 10:20 a.m. Waiting to receive him in heaven are both parents, Walter Henry and Julia Mae Felts, sisters Louise, Christine and Dorothy, and brothers Adolphus, Walter, Jr., Calvin, Roy, and Waymon.

Retired SSG Herman Felts leaves behind to cherish his wonderful memory his beloved wife Gailoyn Felts; sons Tyrone Robinson and Darrick Felts; daughters Angela Felts-Lee and Kimberly Felts-Land. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
