There will be a private family service for Retired CSM (Retired Sergeant DPS) Grover Francis Lehman 78, of Killeen, TX on Friday, October 18, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX.

Graveside service with full military honors will be open to the public, 1:00 p.m., at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, in Killeen, TX.

Mr. Lehman passed away October 3, 2024, in Gatesville, TX.

Grover Francis Lehman (Lee) was born on 6 March 1946 to parents Frances and Lawrence Lehman in Dayton, Ohio.

Grover joined the United States Army in 1965 and retired in October of 1993 achieving the rank of CSM. Grover was a well decorated war veteran who served in both Vietnam and Desert Storm. His medals and awards include: The Meritorious Service Medal W/3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal W/3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal W/1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal (8th Award), Vietnam Service Medal W/2 Bronze Stars, NCO Professional Development Ribbon Numeral 4, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Parachute Badge, Aircraft Crewman Badge, Expert Badge Rifle, Drill Sergeants Identification Badge, US Army God Recruiter Badge, Meritorious Unit Commendation, German Armed Forces Marksmanship Award in Bronze, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Badge W/Palm, National Defense Service Medal W/1 Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Medal Unit Citation Badge, Southwest Asia Service Medal W/2 Bronze Service Stars and the Kuwait Liberation Medal.

After his military career Grover worked for the State of Texas as a DPS Officer, he achieved the rank of Sergeant and retired in 2008 after 15yrs of service. While working for the DPS he was also part of the tactical squad, as well as being part of the Capitol police in Austin Texas, working closely with the Governor.

After retirement, he spent time helping the community, as well as being a bailiff for the City of Killeen for a short period.

Those left to cherish his memory: wife, Mary Ann Bufford-Lehman of Killeen, Texas; Daughters: Shinnequa F. Lehman-Crawley of Houston, Texas and Frances Rebecca Lehman-Payne of Washington, D.C.; Son: Christopher Lawrence Eugene Lehman of Midland, Texas; Grandchildren: Andrew L. Crawley, Derek Crawley, Deja Marie Frances Lehman, Lazarus Donovan Lawrence Lehman, Keyana Naomi Diserns, Zavion Christopher Major Lehman, Hope Saria Payne, Timothy Payne, and one great granddaughter, Coreigh Maleah Florian, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Frances Spicer-Lehman, and Lawrence Lehman and his brother, Lawrence Lehman, Jr.
