Obituary

Funeral service for Retired MSG Freddie Lee Adams, 73 of Killeen, TX  will be held Thursday, February 4, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at First Church of God In Christ in Killeen, TX. Burial with military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.) at the church.

Mr. Adams passed away January 25, 2021 in Killeen, TX.

Freddie Lee Adams was born on July 7, 1947 in Marianna, Arkansas. He was the first of eleven children born to the union of late Sammie Adams and Angie Adams neé Holland. After enduring a nearly seven year long battle with Alzheimer's, Freddie passed away Monday January 25, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a faithful member of Tabernacle of Praise Pentecostal Church in Killeen, Texas for many years.

Freddie attended Anna Strong high school and graduated with the class of 1966. Freddie joined the United States Army at a young age. He was assigned to many duty stations and completed several tours overseas. Freddie was a Veteran of the Vietnam War were he bravely served his country. He retired from the U.S. Army as a 1st Sergeant in 1997.
After retiring from the U.S. Army Freddie worked as a car salesman for Automax Car Dealership. While at Automax Freddie quickly rose from becoming a salesman to a sales manager. He was honored with the Hyundai Top Sales Award for an outstanding three years in a row. He left Automax in 2007 to enjoy his well deserved retirement.
Freddie was a life long learner and supporter of education. He attended Excelsior College where he obtain a Bachelor s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2002.
Freddie married Eva Adams in 1992 and their union resulted in two children and Freddie attaining two bonus children.
Freddie leaves the following to cherish his loving memory: His wife Eva and children Debbie Irons of Maryland, Retired Sargent Freddie Lee Adams Jr. (Marilyn) of Maryland, Darren Adams of Arkansas, Vivian (Dr. John) Nwoha of Ohio, Dianna (Jeffrey) McNair of Illinois, Samantha Adams of Tennessee, Gary Adams, Jerry Adams both of Georgia, Da'Londa Taylor, Jayvonne Taylor, Kolby Adams and Aaron Adams all of Killeen, Texas.
4 brothers — Raymond Adams (Natisha), Henry Adams (Martha), Ricky Adams (Berdean), and Orson Adams; four sisters Ruth McDaniel, Wilma Marshall, Odessa Adams, Rosie Boyd (Michael) 2 brothers proceeded him in death Barron Adams and Dennis Adams.
Also a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
