Memorial service for Retired SFC Francisco Arsenio Olivencia Irizarry, 75 of Killeen, TX will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023, 1:30 p.m. at the Iglesia Christiana Monte Sinai/Mount Sinai Christian Church in Killeen, TX. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Francisco Arsenio Olivencia-Irizarry, 75, of Killeen, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023.

Francisco was born on October 4, 1948, in San German, Puerto Rico, to parents Quintin Olivencia and Cruz Irizarry. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for over 20 years. Throughout his military career he was stationed in Germany, New Mexico, Kansas, Puerto Rico, Kentucky, South Korea, and Texas. After retiring from the Army, Francisco worked as an instructor for the Army Substance Abuse Program on Fort Hood (now Cavazos) for Texas A&M University.

Francisco was a loving husband, devoted father, and caring grandfather and great-grandfather. A true family man, he always put the needs of his family above his own. Francisco was a very honorable gentleman and treated everyone he met as if they were family. He enjoyed gardening, classic cars, and sweets, especially ice cream. His true passion, however, was to serve others: as a soldier, mentor, and friend. Francisco was and will continue to be loved and respected by everyone that had the honor of knowing him.

Francisco was preceded in death by his first wife, Blanca Olivencia; father, Quintin Olivencia; and brothers, Abel Olivencia and Edwin Olivencia.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Zaidy Olivencia; children, Gricell Olivencia, Jessica (Andres) Garcia, Francisco Javier Olivencia, Jason (Katie) Olivencia, and Frances (Joze) Mendoza; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; mother, Cruz Irizarry; brother Felix (Simmy) Nazario; sister, Belkys Olivencia; sister-in-law, Nancy Olivencia; as well as many nieces and nephews.
