Funeral service for Retired SFC Eric Donzell Prelow 55 of Killeen, TX will be held Sunday, June 23, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at Pershing Park Baptist Church in Killeen, TX. Burial with Full Military Honors will be held Monday, June 24, 2024, 9:00 a.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Mr. Prelow passed away June 18, 2024, in Killeen, TX. He was born February 4, 1969, in Shreveport, LA.

Elroy was born on February 4, 1969, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to David Williams and Sandra Lee Prelow. He returned to his heavenly home on June 18, 2024. He was predeceased by his Grandparents, Richard and Earline Prelow.

Eric dedicated 20 years of his life to serving his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army from 1989-2009; Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Provide Comfort, and Operation Restore Hope and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His commitment to duty took him to various corners of the globe, where he served with valor and professionalism. Throughout his military career, Eric displayed unwavering dedication and courage, earning the respect and admiration of his comrades and superiors alike. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement, Army Good Conduct Medal, and Southwest Asia Service Medal. Eric's leadership was exemplary, and his contributions to his unit and country were significant and deeply appreciated.

Eric's life beyond his military service included the establishment of Pre's Lawn Care and going to school. Eric earned an Associate of Applied Science in Business and attended the School of Cosmetology and the CTC School of Ministry. In his leisure time, Eric enjoyed watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He collected cigars and he also enjoyed trying delicious foods and could frequently be seen enjoying a meal with his family and friends. Eric was a dedicated member of Pershing Park Baptist Church and served as an usher.

Eric cherished his family dearly and was a devoted father, grandfather, and faithful servant. He was also a cherished brother, uncle, cousin, and friend whose warmth and generosity touched many lives. To cherish his memory, he leaves behind: his mother, Sandra Lee Prelow, sister: Monica Smith, brothers; Herman Prelow, Carey Prelow, and Ray Prelow; children; Tevin Prelow, Justin Adams, Erika Blow, and Tiffany Prelow; and grandchildren; Prince Wilson Jr., Gracie Wilson and Marquis Jerigan. Eric Prelow left behind a legacy of courage, loyalty, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The memory of his infectious smile, his unwavering strength, and his kind heart will forever be cherished by his family and friends. Eric has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family has expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. They find comfort in knowing that Eric's spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
