Donya Kumi Mosley was blessed to enter this world on December 31st, 1972, in San Fernando,California. Donya was the second child born to Evelyn McKinney and George E. Anderson. Donya had a take-charge personality; she was loving, protective, strong-minded, funny, creative, and the life of the party! Donya loved drawing and collecting; most of all, she loved God. Accepting Christ at a young age, she attended Pleasant View Baptist Church with her grandparents William and Willie Mae McKinney.

From an early age, she showed to be a leader, attending elementary and junior high in Bakersfield, CA, before relocating to the San Fernando Valley, where she attended and graduated with honors in 1991 from San Fernando Senior High. Donya excelled academically and in athletics as a Varsity cheerleader, Varsity basketball player, and track star.

Following high school, Donya enrolled at Colorado State University before later enlisting in the United States Army. Always striving for advancement, Donya was soon accepted into the Green to Gold officer training program (ROTC) at Alabama A&M University, where she earned a B.S. in Political Science and became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Upon graduation, she was also commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Adjutant General Corps and later earned a graduate degree, M.A. in Human Resources, from Webster University. Donya quickly advanced through the ranks during her military career serving two tours in Afghanistan and earning multiple promotions in rank, culminating as a Lieutenant Colonel, prior to retiring in 2023.

Shortly after college, Donya married the love of her life, Joseph Antonio Mosley, on December 4th, 2000. From that union came three beautiful children, two boys, and one girl, and gained a bonus son. Donya was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

On November 20th, 2023, Donya Kumi Mosley was called home to rest and was preceded in death by her grandparents, William, and Willie Mae McKinney, as well as George and Magnolia Anderson and brother, George Edward Anderson II.
