Funeral service for Retired SSG Crawford N. Hearn, 81, of Harker Heights, Texas will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas. Burial will full military honors will follow the services at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas.
Mr. Hearn died July 5, 2021, in Harker Height, TX.
Crawford N. Hearn was born September 16, 1939, to Patsy and George Hearn in Carrollton, MS. He received his diploma in MS. After High School he worked as a Civil Public Servant.
Crawford enlisted in the United States Army on June 4, 1977, in Jackson, MS. He served his country for 22 years. He served in the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge in 1984. His awards, ribbons and medals include: Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service
Ribbon (Numeral 3), National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (w/Silver 2 Loops), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Vietnam), Vietnam Service Medal (w/2 Silver and 1 Bronze Service Stars) Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle) and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry Unit Citation (w/palm).
After his military career he worked at Texas Instruments in Temple, TX. He then worked for Solectron in Austin, TX where he retired from to spend time with his family. His hobbies were bowling, playing dominos and shooting pool.
Left to cherish his memory: his wife Katie Hearn of Harker Heights, TX; son, Crawford N. Hearn (Kandis "McKenna") of Pflugerville, TX; daughter, Carolyn N. Hearn of Harker Heights; sister, Nancy Franklin of Greenwood, MS; one grandson, Crawford N. Hearn III; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Patsy Hearn, brother Sammy Kirkwood, and sisters Lillie Ruth Bowman, Lucille Hearn, and Willie Eva Wilson.
