Graveside service with full military honors for Retired 1SG Bobby Earl Mims, 71 of Kempner, TX will be held Monday, December 6, 2021, 3:00 p.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 5, 2021 (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX.

Mr. Mims passed away November 22, 2021 in Kempner, TX. He was born June 21, 1950 in Bay Minette, AL.

Retired 1SG Bobby Earl Mims was born June 21,1950 to the late John C. Mims and Elizabeth Mims in Bay Minette, Alabama.

Bobby graduated from Douglasville High School in 1968 and decided to enlist in the United States Army after high school. He served in the US Army from March 1,1970 to March,3,1994 being discharged Full Military Honors. During his enlistment he fought in Vietnam and Desert Storm Wars, and was awarded a Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with Valor Device, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and a Vietnam Service Medal.

After retiring from the US Army, he went on to work at KISD School District, San Saba State School for Boys, Fort Hood Apache Craft Shop. Enjoyed fishing and making ceramics and did both with perfection.

On December 29,1984 in Philadelphia, PA. Bobby married Blondell Carter–Mims. From their union they united five children Priscilla
Carter, Terri Bryant, Baber E. Mims ll, Alexius Mims and Christina Mims.

On November 22, 2021, Bobby transitioned, leaving behind to cherish his loving wife Blondell Carter-Mims; five children: Priscilla Carter, Terri Bryant, Baber E. Mims ll, Alexius Mims and Christina Mims, one son-in-law Cisco Bryant; five grandchildren: Rodneya Nash, Jailyn Stevenson, Chadrick Beasley-Mims, DaMonte Bradford and Ty Bryant and two great-grandchildren Michelle Smith and Maddison Nash; nine siblings: Ruth L. Mims, Thomas C. (Jennie) Mims, Carolyn Mims, Harvey L. Mims, Ada M. (Roosevelt) Andrews, Dale R. Mims, Craig S. (Lesia) Mims, Angela D. Mims, Rodney M. (Patricia Ann) Mims; two stepsisters: Judy Pullin and Mary (Allen) Preston; one sister-in-law JoAnne Mims; one aunt and host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Proceeding him in death his sister, Myrtle Joyce Grant (Augustus), and brother, John C Mims, Jr.
