A Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, friend and pillar in his community has elevated from labor to reward. On Sunday, October 6, 2024, the Lord spoke "Well done my good and faithful servant" and Arvie answered the call.

Arvie Fairchild Jr. was born January 18, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois to Arvie Sr and Florence Fairchild. Arvie attended Chicago public schools and decided at the age of 17 to enlist in the US Army. Arvie lovingly referred to as RV, enjoyed his travels and was proud of his many accomplishments while in the military. His career eventually led him to Fort Hood, Texas where he chose to make his home.

After retirement RV entered the world of auto sales where he was extremely successful. He was dubbed as "The Hood-Up Man. RV spent many years with Automax, of Killeen. He worked at Patriot Pontiac-Buick as well as All American Chevrolet. RV eventually decided to hang up his hat and once again enter the world of retirement.

RV loved entertaining. He never missed an opportunity to celebrate. On Sundays, you could find him with a house full of people watching sports and listening to music. He was an avid sports fan and would aggressively cheer on his beloved Chicago Bears, Bulls; or anything Chicago.

RV was devoted to his civic organizations. He was a member of Nubia Temple #191, Central Texas Consistory #306 and Pride of Killeen Lodge #620, Jack D. Levy American Post 573 and a lifetime member of Benjamin O. Davis VFW Post 91911. He and his friends also formed the Friday Breakfast Club where they enjoyed eating breakfast and having a meeting of the minds every Friday.

In May of 2024 RV was diagnosed with cancer. He fought this battle with all the strength he could muster until he finally became tired. After a blessed life of 65 years, RV answered his master's call and accepted his heavenly wings to join his father and mother.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife Tammy, daughters Arvita (Clyde), LaShonda and Lakeisha. Grandson Roman and Granddaughter Dalaila; sister Anita Jones, brothers Reggie and Anthony Fairchild. Devoted nephew Emmitt "Rock" Jones. Stepchildren, Travis, Dacia, Terry and Daylon; He also leaves numerous step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
