Funeral service for Retired SFC Anthony Varell Johnson, 50 of Killeen, TX will be held Friday, December 3, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service (11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.
Anthony Varell Johnson was born July 18,1971 in Monroeville, Alabama and at the age of two months old his family relocated to Chicago, Illinois. Prior to Anthony being called home to be in presence of the Lord on November 18, 2021, the sinner's prayer was read to him, and he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was the youngest child born to Mack Johnson and Frances Johnson.
Anthony "Skeet" Johnson graduated from Pensacola High and joined the United States Army at the age of 17 years old where he retired after 21 years as a Sergeant First Class after completing three tours overseas that included Iraq, Afghanistan, and Guantanamo Bay. Anthony decided to further his education while in the military by receiving an Associates in General Studies and an Associates in Applied Science, along with a Bachelor's in Business Administration.
He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Aundra Justice. He leaves to cherish in his memory, his wife, Fayquelyn Annyce Johnson of Killeen, TX; Three daughters, LaQueeta Humes of Georgetown, TX; Rakesha Humes of Killeen, TX; Cassandra Humes of Killeen, TX; two grandsons and five granddaughters; his mother, Frances Powell (Kevin Powell) of Pensacola, FL; One brother Mackel Jones of Pensacola, FL; Two Aunts, Betty Jones of Montgomery, AL and Alice Johnson of Chicago, IL; One Godmother, Bertha Walker of Mobile, AL; Two sisters, Latedra Jones of Dumfries, VA and Lisa Lett of Peterman, AL; Two God brothers; Robert Curtis and Eddie Mack of Pensacola, FL; Two nephews, Nicholas Jones of Los Angeles, CA and Cameron Johnson of North Carolina; One Uncle, Russell Prim of Pensacola, FL and a host relatives and dear friends.
