Anthony "Tony" Ray Roby, 58, passed at the home he shared with his wife Dorothy and granddaughter, Lamya, in Killeen, Texas on January 23, 2024.

Tony was born in Rockford, Illinois on January 20, 1966, to Etha Mae Roby Bates and Joseph Bell.

Tony attended Central High School in Waterloo, Iowa, graduating in 1984. He joined the United States Army in 1986 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for Signal Communications. In Tony's Military career, he had overseas tours of duty in Iraq, Bosnia, and Korea. He attended his basic and advanced leadership. Nuclear Biological Chemical and Military Occupation School. Tony also received a Meritorious Service Medal, Commendation Award, Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. Anthony finished his military career with two tours at Fort Hood where he retired at the rank of Sergeant First Class in 2007.

Tony met the love of his life, Dorothy, excited to start their new lives together, the two were married in Killeen in 2004.

Tony was a beloved bonus dad and shared all the joys of parenthood with his wife Dorothy and their children: son, Artavia Edwards from Texas, son, Rusty D Abrams from Alabama, daughter, Kimberly Stokes, husband Marlon, and their children, Keisha, Desha, Jazmine and Jonathon all from Arizona.

Tony had a soft spot for his fur babies, treating each one like a valuable family member they were. Hennesey, Stormy, and Gloria.

Anthony had a calling and was a devoted Jehovah's Witness in Killeen. The fellowship of the brothers and sisters was a shine in his eyes.

Everyone who knew Tony knew how much he loved his 'man shed'.

Tony will always be remembered for having his own Home Depot and Lowes in his backyard. He enjoyed retirement life and working on his truck but what he enjoyed the most with the quality time he spent with his family. Road trips, camping, and fishing the many lakes they would visit. He also loved cooking outdoors.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents.

Survived by his wife, Dorothy Anderson-Roby, and granddaughter, Lamya L Edwards.

Tony will be missed terribly by so many families and friends. He touched so many lives with his kindness, laughter, friendly smile, and kind words.

Tony's first service is of Remembrance, will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2204 Sunny Ln, Killeen, Texas 76541 on Friday, February 9, 2024, 6:00 p.m. Tony's second service will be his Inurnment, with full military honors at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen,11463 S Fort Hood St, Killeen, TX 76542 on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, 11:00 a.m.
