Funeral service for Retired SGT Angela Elaine Douglas, 64 of Killeen, Texas will be held Monday, September 18, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Greater Vision Community Church in Killeen, TX w/ viewing one hour prior to service. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX

Viewing will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023 (5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.)at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX.

Retired SGT Angela Elaine Douglas passed away August 25, 2023, in Killeen, TX. February 25, 1959, Angela Elaine Reid was born in Saint Andrews, Jamaica to Norma Headlam and Byron Reid. She moved to the United States at the age of 16. Angela graduated from Custard High School  in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the late 70's. She proudly became a United States Citizen on November 4, 1988.

She enlisted in the United States Army, after graduation, in 1978 and served twenty years as an Army Medic. Some of her assignments were Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX; Fort Campbell, KY; Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C.;  97th General Hospital, Frankfurt, Germany; Evans Army Hospital, Colorado Springs, CO; Wurzburg, Germany, and included tours in Southeast Asia and in Saudi Arabia/Kuwait during Desert Storm; and USA  MEDDAC, Fort Hood (Cavazos )TX. Notably, SGT Manigault earned an Expert Marksmanship Badge along with Army Commendation and Army Achievement Medals. After retiring  from the military on August 31, 1997, she continued her  government service as a CNA at Darnell Army Medical Center, Monroe TMC, and the Women's Health Clinic on Fort Hood (now Fort  Cavazos). She retired from government service February 28, 2021.

Sis. Angela gave her life to Christ and was an active member of Greater Vision Community Church, where she served on the Usher Board as a Greeter, and was a member of the Women of Vision Ministry. She was also a member of the Lions Park  Senior Center Choir, who sang  for nursing home  residents. Sis. Angela wrote  inspirational poems and published a book "Poems from the Heart."  She loved  jigsaw puzzles, word finds, Sudoku, playing the original Mario  Brothers, Tetris,  and Mighty Bomb Jack on the original Nintendo, singing hymns,  and attending her  children and  grandchildren's activities.  She was known for her smile, generous spirit, writing skills, especially through poems, service to others, and faithfulness to God.  Angela was always giving of herself. She helped everyone and was friendly with anyone she met.

August 25, 2023, Sis Angela Elaine Reid Manigault Douglas went to meet Jesus.

Angela Douglas was preceded in death by her Aunt Edna Campbell, Aunt Rose Campbell, Grandpa Issachar "Papi" Campbell, Grandma Daisy Richardson- Campbell, Cousin Bevon Rapley, Aunt Eulalee Richardson, Uncle Herbert Campbell, and Uncle Roy Campbell.

Angela is survived by her husband of 11 years, Marcus Douglas,; children: Stephanie Reid, Caroline Love (Herbie Love, Jr.), and  Michael Reid;  and her  grandchildren Daniel Bullard,  Michael Bullard, Herbie Love III, and Allison Love; her  mother Norma Headlum; her siblings, Alvin Day, Sharon Bowen Campbell, Michelle  Headlam, and Christine Headlam; her cousin Paul Watkins,  and all of her cousins worldwide;  her Uncle Lucal Campbell; She also leaves behind a host  of extended family,  friends, friends that were like family, colleagues, and church  members who played a very important role in her life.
