Ms. Hankins passed away July 14, 2022, in Killeen, TX.

Renata Patrice Hankins was the fifth child born to the late Sam A. Hankins and Mary L. Gordon Hankins, on February 5, 1964, in Fort Smith, AR.

She was raised in Killeen, TX, and attended the Killeen Independent School District. She graduated from Killeen High School in 1982 and attended Central Texas College. After receiving an associate degree in arts and one in applied science, Renata enlisted in the United States Air Force, where she served her country from July 1988 to November 1995. After being honorably discharged from the military, she moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to live and work.

Renata professed a belief in Christ at an early age and dedicated her life to working in the church. She was very involved in the music ministry, where she sang and directed many choirs for several churches in the Dallas/Irving area, including Ben Washington Baptist Church, Irving, TX, and
Shekinah Tabernacle Baptist Church Dallas, TX. Her love of music led her to write, play, and perform many songs that offered praises to the Lord. She always had a song in her heart and a willingness to share her music in any situation. Renata eventually moved back into the Killeen area, where she reunited with Marlboro Heights Missionary Baptist Church. She faithfully attended and served the Lord until illness prevented her from doing so.

Renata leaves to mourn and cherish her loving memory: Donna Brown of Killeen, TX; Adrian Williams of Fort Worth, TX; Garold Hankins of Killeen, TX; Garard Hankins of Saudi Arabia; four nephews; two great-nephews; two great-nieces; and a host of friends and church family members.

"I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course. I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
II Timothy 4:7-8
