Memorial service for Mr. Reginald Isaiah Gray, 38 of Killeen, TX will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Chapel AME Church in Killeen, TX. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Reginald Isaiah Gray was born October 12, 1983, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas. He transitioned from this life to eternal peace on February 14, 2022. He was the youngest son of Dr.  Floristine Elory Dobie Gray and the late Ronald I. Gray, Sr.

Reginald's educational journey included Grace Christian Center, Memorial Baptist Academy, Bellaire Elementary, Nolan Middle School, Ellison Ninth Grade Center, Ellison High School, Copperas Cove High School, Richard Milburn Academy, from which he graduated, and Blinn College in Brenham, Texas. Reginald accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Piney Grove A. M. E. Zion Church in Waverly, Virginia. Holding dear to his heart, Psalm 40:8 "I    desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart," he rededicated his life to Christ and resumed attending Anderson Chapel A.M.E. Church in Killeen, Texas whereas a youth, he sung in the Sunbeam Choir and was a member of the YPD. When asked, he volunteered to provide lawncare service for some of the Richard Allen Community Development Corporation's rental property to prepare them for rental. He assisted as a parking lot attendant for the Northwest Texas Annual   Conference that was hosted by Anderson Chapel. He enjoyed a diverse employment history over the years from cashier, acting (role playing), to construction and two business ventures. Reginald found his niche in working with nature and established, Reliable Lawn Care which he maintained until his passing.

Reginald was gifted with athleticism. He entered the sports world with karate and T-Ball where moms and dads cheered him on by calling him "Reggie, Reggie," and continued with him playing golf, baseball, basketball, and football at the quarterback position in middle school, high school and semi-pro. His favorite sports figures were Tiger Woods, Kirby Puckett with the Minnesota Twins, David Robinson with the San Antonio Spurs, and Tom Brady with the New England Patriots. Even when Tom Brady went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he still maintained his loyalty to the New England Patriots. Watching the games on television was not sufficient for he had grown up attending the games and getting autographed pictures and balls from Kirby Puckett of the Minnesota Twins, Warren Moon of the Houston Oilers, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and Dallas Mavericks Cheerleaders. Reginald continued the tradition by taking his son, Raijon to see the New England Patriots versus the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium. Reginald enjoyed playing chess, video games, music, dancing, reading, eating out, cooking, vacationing, dressing, and driving. When Reginald went shopping, he did not just buy one outfit, one shirt or one jacket or one pair shoes but multiples.  He enjoyed driving so much that he acquired his Commercial Driver's License. He enjoyed socializing and reveled in his role as his dad's co-pilot, Ittawa and most definitely momma's boy. He adored his big brother, Irvin and his little brother, Austin. When Reggie turned 16, his dad mapped out the way from Killeen to Abilene. Reggie drove the black Cadillac. Darnell Robinson rode shot gun in the front seat. His other friends who went on the trip were Julius Allen and Ronald Gibson. According to Darnell, they had a blast!

Family was important to Reggie. In planning for Raijon's baptism, he told everyone that the ceremony started an hour earlier to be sure that everyone arrived on time. He made sure that Raijon said his grace before meals and prayed before going to bed. He told Raijon that God is your best friend. Whenever he had the opportunity, he read bedtime stories to Raijon, played games such as tic-tac-toe, and dominoes, put puzzles together, colored pictures, played video games, watched movies, and football games. To encourage Raijon in sports, he played football, soccer, and basketball with him and affectionately called him, Raijon the Champion.

Reginald leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Raijon Amir Irvin Gray, mother, Dr. Floristine Elory Dobie Gray, Killeen, Texas; big brother Ronald Irvin Gray, Jr. (Marie), San Antonio, Texas; little brother, Austin Tyler Gray, Rochester, Minnesota; aunt and Godmother, Beverly Dobie Jones (Tom), Hampton, Virginia; aunts Susie W. Dobie Hill, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,  Shirley White and Laura Gray, Wakefield, Virginia, Mary Cofer, Atlanta, Georgia,  Audrey Gray (Carl), Hampton, Virginia; uncles Josiah L. Dobie (Elaine), Waverly, Virginia, Samuel W. Dobie, Sr. (Shirley), Petersburg, Virginia; two nephews Devin G. Gray, Abilene, Texas and Phillip J. Tillis, San Antonio, Texas; three nieces, Valerie Salinas (Richard), Alix, and Lexi Hernandez, San Antonio, Texas, and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
