On 26 August 2022, Pastor Rebecca Tinkshell, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and Aunt left us to go be with her heavenly father at the age of 85 years old.
Pastor Rebecca was born July 26, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Sammie Lee Henderson. She was the second eldest of 8 children. She attended public school in the San Antonio Independent School District, worked in the health care field, and later owned her owned business for more than 25 years. As a world traveler she enjoyed the sights and rich history of Egypt, Germany, Paris, Italy, Kuwait, and so many other places.
She received her calling to preach and was ordained in the 1970s. Through her faithful service as a pastor for nearly 50 years she brought so many souls to know the Lord. Her unwavering faith and selfless service was abundantly clear from every conversation or interaction you had with her.
In 1969 she was joined in matrimony to Wilbert Tinkshell, who preceded her in death. Through this matrimony she served as a military spouse for numerous years. They have five children Debra Hall (Don), James Conley (Youla), Ronald Conley, Virginia Faris and Shemetra Tinkshell who precedes her in death.
To further cherish her memory, she leaves behind her siblings; Michelle Thomas (Pastor Michael), Yevonne Wiltz (Pastor Michael) and those who preceded her in death; Kay Oveda Green, Wilmire Jones (Lucinda), Roger Dennis (Mary), Harold Dennis, and Larry Dennis. Grandchildren; Dr. Bianca Hall, Ronald Conley II, Mariah Stewart (Christian), Tyra Conley and James Conley Jr. Five extremely cherished great grandchildren; Reina Hall, Robert Hall, Michael Hall, Alyssa Hall and Cayden Hall. Nieces and Nephews; Brittany Wiltz, Melody Jett (Roshaun), Christina Dennis, Wilmire Jones III, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
