Funeral service for Mrs. Ramona Elizabeth Moore, 60 of Killeen, TX will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2025, 12:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service (11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.

Ramona Elizabeth Moore, born on September 15, 1964, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, at the age of 60. Born in Newport News, Virginia, attending Newport News Intermediate and graduating from Ferguson High School in 1983, where she was involved in sports and loved science class.

Preceded in death by: her mother, Joyce Maxine Manley-Pettaway; father, Robert Pettaway, Jr.; sisters, Bonita Pettaway and Alesia Hines; in-laws, Romenia and Alton Moore; grandparents, Eddie Ercell, Ethel Marie Aston (grandma), Marie Harris Alston (great-grandma); aunts, Cheryl Manley Wanda K Jeter; niece, Krystal Hines; and brother-in-law, Ronald Moore.

Most definitely a woman of faith steadfast in worship and praise with a deep love for God and her family. Mona was the matriarch of her family.
Always desiring to get closer to God, she would always encourage everyone to get their life right with the lord. Mona lived a very blessed full life,
living in various states and three tours to Germany.

She is survived by: her beloved husband of 35 years, Retired Sergeant First Class Milton Maurice Moore, and children, Ramona Earline and her husband, Stephen Brooks, Derek Moore (Sheree-Jaylan), Jocelyn Denise Moore, Phillip Isaiah Moore (Tiffany). She was a devoted and proud grandmother to Stanley Cole III (19), Emani G Brooks (18), Alana Elyse Solomon (15), Saniya Elizabeth Brooks (12), Isaiah Moore (10), Stephen Brooks, Jr. (10), Jayceion Moore Davis (7), Ramon Earl-lee Brooks (7), Emily Rose Davis (5), Kingsley Moore (1), and Solai Moore (7 months), who each held a special place in her heart and soul.

Her transition also leaves a void in the lives of her loving friends and extended family created along the years in various locations.

Boopie is also survived by: her brothers, Marlon Deon (Queen) Pettaway (Quadir Pettaway, nephew), Thomas Pittman (Katrina), and sister-in-law, Katrina Moore (Shayla/Krissy) and Robert Pettaway; nieces, Nenae Tony, Raven Hines, and Shamire Pettaway; nephews, Armand, BJ, R.J, and Miles Moore; brother-in-law, Reggie Moore; cousins, Latoye Davis, Dewayne Manley, Joyce Fogan, Cheri Brumbaugh, and FuFu.

Ramona will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and warmth will continue through the lives of those she touched. Ramona was full of life, obtaining a government position at various commissaries all over Germany and the United States. A true chef at heart learning how to prepare food at a young age while working at her mom's Soul Kitchen as a teenager. She loved to cook for her family and coworkers!

She was a dedicated wife supporting her husband throughout his military career.

Queen Elizabeth enjoyed spending time in her yard, taking pictures, jamming to various types of music, word puzzles, reading, singing, collecting magnets, traveling, and growing her own garden and fruit trees.

September 30, 2021, Ramona was baptized and became a member of Central Union Church of Christ. Her faith in God was strong, and she trusted in Jesus her entire life no matter the circumstances. We will forever remember your smile, laugh, wisdom, personality, and fire!
