Funeral services for Mrs. Pearlie Beatrice Jones, 89 of Harker Heights, TX will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, 12:00 p.m. at Greater Vision Community Church in Killeen, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) at the church.

Pearlie Beatrice Jones was born on August 11, 1935 and was the second child born to Henry Jackson and Bessie Southall-Jackson in Taylor Texas. Pearlie was a loving child who grew up in the country caring for her siblings, Henry Jr., Vera, and James Lee Jackson.  She was surrounded by many aunts, uncles and cousins, who she worked with on a farm. Pearlie grew up to be strong and independent.   She attended and graduated from O.L. Price School in Taylor, Texas. She passed away September 22, 2024, in Killeen, TX.

Pearlie later became a loving mom. She bore 5 children. No one loved their family more than Pearlie. She was an excellent provider and showed her love thru her hard work and commitment to being caring and making everyone feel loved and cared for.  Her children's education was also very important to her, so she made sure that they all finished high school and some went on to college. Being independent and self-reliant was important in her household as well as church attendance -

3 days a week was a must and loving God and the WORD. She spread her love of God everywhere she went. Pearlie worked as a retail specialist for several department stores for 50 years. She met many people during this time where she developed several lasting friendships.

Pearlie was married to Alzalkia C Jones of Columbus, Ohio for 38 years. They arrived at then Ft. Hood, TX, and later resided in Harker Heights, TX, before finally moving to Copperas Cove, TX.

She and Bro. Jones became members of Greater Vision Community Church. As an active member,

she touched the lives of everyone she met with her kind heart and gentle spirit.

Pearlie was preceded in death by parents, Henry Jackson and Bessie Southall-Jackson; son, Jonas Brinson; daughter, Barbara Thompson; and a son-in-law.

Pearlie is survived by her loving husband, Alzalkia C. Jones of Copperas Cove, TX; children: Delores Chase of Lexington Parks, MD, Donald Brinson of San Diego, CA, and Angela Graves of Harker Heights, TX.; nephew Glen Mitchell; two nieces, Shawn and Theresa; several grand and great- grandchildren along with numerous grand nieces and nephews. Pearlie Beatrice Jones lived her life with grace, dignity, and compassion, always putting others before herself.  Her memory will live on through the love she shared and the impact she had on lives. As we say our final goodbyes, we remember the joy and love that Pearlie Beatrice Jones brought and the legacy she leaves behind.
