Obituary

Funeral services for Ms. Paulette Taylor 67, of Killeen, TX will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at Cathedral of Deliverance and Praise Church of God in Christ in Harker Heights, TX. Burial will follow the service at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Paulette Taylor, age 67, departed her earthly life peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Baylor, Scott and White hospital in Temple, Texas. Beautiful Paulette was born on April 18, 1956, in Amarillo, Texas, to Laray and Dorothy Taylor.

She was a longtime member of Cathedral of Deliverance and Praise Church of God in Christ in Harker Heights, where she enjoyed fellowship and singing in the choir. She was told she wasn't the best tenor, but her passion for praise and worship set her apart from everyone else. She definitely stood out. She loved worshipping the Lord. She also really enjoyed her time with the Austin C.O.G.I.C. Mass Choir.

Paulette's career was fulfilled in working for the U.S. Postal Service. She served there for over 30 years before retiring. In retirement, Paulette spent time with her best friend, Regina, laughing the time away. Paulette discovered at a very young age that she had a green thumb and could grow just about anything. No matter who was speaking, Paulette always listened. She always said, "It's important to listen to people because you never know what they are going through." She was always kind and caring. She always made the best of every situation. She always spoke about being thankful no matter the circumstances. Paulette forgave very easily even if she wasn't at fault. She was quoted as saying, "How can I not forgive someone and call myself a child of God? It doesn't matter if I am right. I still need to forgive." A true woman of the Lord is who she was.

She was preceded in death by her father, Laray Owen Taylor, Sr. She is survived by: her mother, Dorothy Kinmon Scott; sister, Jeanette Taylor; brother, Laray O. Taylor, Jr. (Angelica Taylor); sisters, Angela Taylor, and Dacia Benton (Kerwin Benton); niece and nephew, Briana Taylor and Aaron Taylor (Zoe Taylor); and her best friend, Regina Collins.
