Funeral service for Mrs. Paulette Annmarie Cummings 63 of Kempner, TX will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Greater Vision Community Church in Killeen, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) at the church.

Paulette Annmarie Soares Cummings, mother to Tyrone Seymour Soares, Jr., and Latoya Soares who passed away on January 28, 2024, was born May 24, 1960, in Kingston, Jamaica to the late Everton Mendez Sr. and Irene T. Ricketts. She was the second youngest of five children, with two brothers and two sisters.

Paulette's early public education was in Kingston, Jamaica where she graduated high school in 1978. Her early religious training was accomplished in Jamaica, giving her an understanding of God's great love for her and mankind.

Later in life, as owner and cook of her own restaurant, she was known for her tasty Jamaican and Islands meals as well as her splendid hospitality. She loved cooking, but even more, she loved taking care of her patrons.

Paulette was a worshipper and gave her all in praise to a God who loved her and supplied her every need. She was known for her lively personality and devotion to her church. Whenever she saw you, Paulette greeted you with a smile, introduced you to those around her and was magnificent at making one feel at ease and at home. Prior to joining Greater Vision Community Church in 1999, Paulette attended worship at Comanche Chapel Gospel Service on Ft. Cavazos (formerly Ft. Hood) and was on the Usher Board. Upon joining Greater Vision, Paulette served with the Usher and Greeter Ministry and was available for service at all times - even when she was not scheduled. Additionally, she was an active member of the Women of Vision.

Paulette was a devoted Mother, Military Wife, Restaurant Owner, and True Believer in the Lord.

She was loved and appreciated by her friends, Greater Vision Family, and the larger community. Paulette's legacy should be that she is remembered for the joy she brought to others in life. She – "...loved you and there was nothing you could do about it!"

Knight, Hartford, CT; Joseph Mendez, Hartford CT; Debbie Mendez, Hartford, CT; and a host of family, friends, former co-workers, and loved ones.
