Funeral service for Ms. Joann White 82, of Killeen, TX will be held Thursday, August 13, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Christian House of Prayer in Copperas Cove, TX. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service (10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.).

Ms. White passed away August 6, 2026, in Killeen, TX. She was born May 29, 1944, in Chicago, IL.

JoAnn White, a beloved matriarch, cherished friend, and devoted servant to her community, passed away peacefully at her home on August 6, 2026. She was 82 years old.

Born on May 29, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, JoAnn was the daughter of Joseph Stringfellow and Annie Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Johnson; and grandson, Myrick Diggles.

A woman of remarkable strength and unwavering faith, JoAnn lived a life defined by love, service, and dedication. In 1960, she married Willie White, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and shared purpose. Together, they built a strong family foundation rooted in faith and resilience.

JoAnn leaves behind her loving children, Yolanda Blackman, Doretha Orr (Timothy Orr), and Willie White (Pamela White), who continue to carry forward her legacy of kindness, compassion, and strength.

She was a proud and devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to twenty-four great-grandchildren. To each of them, she offered unconditional love, wisdom, and guidance that will live on for generations.

JoAnn is also survived by her siblings, Linda Johnson, Lisa Cannon (Charlie Cannon), Tony Johnson, Bernard Johnson (Simone Johnson), Bobby Johnson, and Michael Johnson. They remember her as a pillar of strength, a source of encouragement, and a deeply loved sister.

Her professional life reflected her caring spirit. JoAnn dedicated over 30 years as a nurse’s aide, where she compassionately served others with dignity and grace. After retiring in 2005, she continued her mission of service by teaching at a Christian school for 14 years, inspiring and nurturing young minds with wisdom and faith.

Faith was the cornerstone of JoAnn’s life. She was an active and faithful member of her church community for over 25 years and found her spiritual home at Christian House of Prayer in 2006, where she remained a devoted member until her passing. Her commitment to excellence, her servant’s heart, and her deep love for God touched countless lives.

In her leisure time, JoAnn found joy in reading, traveling, and listening to music of all genres. Her curiosity and appreciation for life reflected her open heart and vibrant spirit.

JoAnn’s legacy is one of faith, love, and service. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
